  • Our pastry chef starts at 6AM baking our fresh scones and breads. We even use organic butter milk from as a close a Macroom.
  • We pour eight different wines by the glass every month.
  • We sell Lougueville Cider & Eight Degrees Pilsner.
  • Denis from K O’Connell’s delivers our fresh fish every morning and may even call twice a day when things get busy.
  • If you would like to beat the queue, you can call us at any time at 021 427 0880  to reserve your table.
  • If you are having a working lunch then a Nash2Go box of sandwiches is the answer.
  • We have an extensive gluten free menu, put together by Donna our Head Chef. Lots of our food in the shop is also gluten free including our casseroles, soups and breads.
  • Our pork and bacon is supplied by Crowes of Dundrum and our beef is supplied by Barry O’Connell.
  •  Our produce is supplied from our neighbours in the English Market, but we also travel as far as India for our tasty spices.
  • For every one minion you meet downstairs there is a mirror image upstairs – we currently have a staff of eighteen.

Claire Nash

Claire’s passion for food was ignited at a young age. At the age of 14 she spent the best of her summer months under the wing of Myrtle Allen, at Ballymaloe House. Claire worked and trained in both Ireland and Atlanta, USA. She started in Cathal Brugha Street with a Higher Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Management and a BSC Management Degree from Trinity College Dublin. In the States, she studied Business Management in Georgia State University. She returned to Cork in 1990 to open her business. She is still as dedicated to quality and consistency as she was when she first opened. Claire was delighted to accept an honorary masters in business awarded to her by University College Cork in 2010. Claire is currently on the executive board of the Cork Business Association and a board member of the Cork Opera House.
She was recently delighted to receive the appointment of President of the Cork Business Association for the second time and will remain so until January 2016.

Mairéad O'Brien


Mairead was born into a food producing and strong dairy family in Mitchelstown, the heart of the Golden Vale. Mairéad qualified from the Cork Institute of Technology with a Diploma in Hotel and Catering Management. She was also a winning member of the IHCI National Hotel and Catering Business Game 2002. She is a member of the Slow Food Ireland initiative. Mairead was the 2011 Network Cork Business woman of the year / Employee. Mairéad is The Restaurant Association of Ireland’s Best Restaurant Manager in Munster, 2015.

Carol Maher


Carol hails from Mountmellick, County Laois.  She completed a Bachelor of Business and Marketing (Hons) at Limerick Institute if Technology.  During her studies, a summer job in a restaurant ignited her passion for hospitality and Irish produce.  She received management training in hotel restaurants in Jersey, Channel Islands.  After extensive travelling in Australasia Carol returned to Ireland and joined the team at Nash 19 in 2010. She is assistant manager to Mairead, responsible for all waiting staff and our corporate lunch catering business.

Marie Mason


Marie is our accounts manager; she joined the team in early 2002, having completed her Diploma in Hotel and Catering Management. Marie manages our account department and is responsible for our Christmas hamper business.

Donna Willams


Donna comes from a family of cooks and chefs, it’s no surprise that her interest in food started from a early age. As a young teenager she worked with her mum in restaurants part time. At 16 she worked full time in the Irish collage in Glanmire all summer waiting, washing up and helping the chefs cook for 150 kids.  At this point Donna knew she  wanted to be a chef. In 2002 she got her first proper job as a Commis Chef in The Barn Restaurant Glanmire.  In 2005 Donna went to cit to study Culinary Arts day release for 3 years, specialising in pastry and management. She graduated in 2008. Donna joined the team at Nash 19 in Aug 2012.
